Welcome to Igloofest Montreal. A basic guide to enjoying one of the coldest electronic music festivals in the world.

Since 2007, Igloofest has been bringing together thousands of music lovers to dance under the stars in Montreal’s Old Port.

Featuring massive ice decorations, steel structures and striking architectural visuals, this festival offers a lineup of the best local and international electronic music artists.

Plus an amazing and fun Igloovillage, with the already famous contest for the most extravagant snowsuits, Igloofest is one of the city’s most modern and most popular events in Canada in winter.

One of the coldest (perhaps the coldest) electronic music festivals in the world is Igloofest Montreal, which in 2024 will take place between Thursday, January 18 and Saturday, February 10 (it also takes place in Quebec City in March).

Igloofest will take place at the Jacques-Cartier Wharf in Montreal’s Old Port, one of the city’s most important cultural centres and event venues.

METRO to Place-d’Armes station, from 5:46 am to 1 am (1:30 am on Saturdays), or Champ-de-Mars station, from 5:52 am to 12:52 am (1:22 am on Saturdays). Both on the Montreal Transport Company’s orange line. Depending on the direction, it may open or close a few minutes earlier or later.

BUS any of the following lines: 55 Saint Laurent, Saint-Laurent / Saint-Jacques stop. Line 715 Vieux-Montréal/Vieux-Port, Notre-Dame / De Bonsecours stop. Or the night line Line 361 Saint-Denis, at the Place Jacques-Cartier stop. Depending on the direction, North or South, the schedules may vary (see bus schedules in Montreal).

Igloofest is a relatively long festival, compared to the average length of other large festivals. Igloofest Montreal takes place over 12 nights over 3 weeks between January 18th and February 10th.

The programme takes place on the evenings of the last two weekends of January and the first weekend of February.

Until a few years ago, if you couldn’t find tickets directly from the official site, you had the option of the secondary market, where you could buy them for a little more than their original price, or in some cases, paying up to 10 times their price.

Due to speculation and cases of forgery or fraud, the organizers took action and now tickets can only be purchased directly from the Igloofest passes and tickets page on their official website.

Tickets are sold progressively to allow for better prices. We recommend that you subscribe to the festival newsletter to receive notifications of new rounds of ticket sales.

Igloofest 2024’s guests include American Diplo, French-American Marc Rebillet, Australian Partiboi69, French duo NTO and The Blaze, Dutchman Armin Van Buuren, Ukrainian Miss Monique, and artists from Italy, Germany, Denmark, and several cities in the United States.

This festival is also a great opportunity for local talent, producers and DJs from Montreal and other Canadian cities.

Montreal artists will include Skesa, duo Sultan + Shepard, visual artist and DJ Odile Myrtil, and Korean-born DJ Hyunji-A. From the rest of Canada, Ontario producer and DJ REZZ and Vancouver’s Nostalgix will perform, among others.

The Igloovillage is the outdoor area where guests can dance under the stars or snowflakes, and together with the facilities, lights and services, enjoy a truly exciting experience.

VIP access allows you priority access to the venue, drinks service, access to the exclusive terrace with heated toilets, privileged view of the stage, and air-conditioned indoor spaces.

The Igloofest Experience is a party within the festival where attendees can compete for the most extravagant costumes.
